Re: April 1 Check In

  • How has my body changed??? That is a good question. I still have 10 lbs to loose and am using yoga and have started the 30 day shred to try to loose it and some more. The thing I didn't realize was how squishy my belly would be after delivery, I hope that I will be able to get it back to somewhat normal, I know that there is no more bikinis for me, tankinis all the way!!!

  • Well, I never looked at my weight the whole time I was pregnant. I gained about 10 pounds just during our IF treatments, so I knew I was going to be stressed if I continued to watch my weight go up and up.

About two weeks after I had Bennett, I finally got on the scale and was shocked. I knew I was big, but I didn't realize just how big!

I almost immediately joined WW online (for nursing mothers) and started exercising the minute I could.

I'm down almost 10 pounds from when I started and have about 20 more to go. I'm going to Vegas in July and really hope I can lose close to 20 by then, but I know that's quite a bit in a short amount of time.

I'm NOT looking forward to summer clothes and swimsuits!

  • I am lucky and am back to my prebaby weight, however my body is no where near what it was. It is mostly my belly that I really hate. I never had a tight firm belly, but it certainly was never this squishy and flabby. I am hoping that since I hardly used my ab muscles for months that eventually they might tighten up a little so I dont have a jelly roll for a stomach. To be honest there is not much I am doing to fix this problem right now, but I also really just have no time. It is almost 11pm and this is the first I have been able to sit and not have to worry about the girls, get things ready for tomorrow or get something else done around the house.?

  • Lets just say this, my DS is almost 2 and although I weigh about what I did before I was pg it is not not distributed the same.  I have kind of started to figure out that my body is never going to be the same.  I am okay with it because he is the best thing ever and I know we are going to have more kids some day so it doesn't seem worth my time to worry about it too much.  Smile

  • Well, my body has changed in that I am carrying a basketball around my belly! :) I have started some light swelling...no cankles yet though. Outside of that, I have been very happy with my pregnant body...my boobs haven't grown (Since I have DD's pre-pregnancy I am SOOOOO happy about that!) and the rest of me has pretty much stayed the same!!

We just had our 37 week appointment and I am still 1cm dilated but am now 60% effaced so we are making progress!!

I love being able to say that I am going to have a baby this month...it is SO exciting!!

  • Well nothing has really changed with my body yet. I will be 13 weeks tomorrow and am actually down 12 pounds since stopping the fertility meds. I just quit taking metformin last week so im sue the weight gain will be starting soon. Everyone keeps asking if im sure im pregnant because I look better than I have in 2 years. I keep joking that the baby is holding on to my tailbone thats why im not showing yet! (My tail bone and back have been hurting all week.)

  • I guess I should answer my own question, lol.

I didn't mind gaining the weight while I was pregnant.  After I gave birth I had a few breakdowns about it.  But it was because I kept getting interviews for jobs so even though I had just given birth I had to go shopping and the sizes that fit were so much larger that it caused me to cry in the stores.

By the time I went back to work at 12 weeks PP, I had lost all but 5 lbs.  Then I went back on BCP when I weaned and I gained 5 back so I was up 10 lbs again.

I just started walking on a trail.  I try to do it 2 to 3 times a week but it is hard because I want to get back to my son quickly after being away from him all day.  But I just have to remember that he deserves a healthy mama with lots of energy and I know exercising will help with that.

I also purchased a mommy and baby yoga dvd.  He is a wiggle-worm though when I try to do the exercises with him so I'm not able to concentrate on my actual workout.  But hey, at least I'm trying something right?

  • At my checkup at 8 wks pp, I was about 10 lbs over pre-pg weight, so I was happy about that. I'd like to start going back to the gym at some point to work off more, but there just doesn't seem to be any time now. While I was on maternity leave, we went on walks on nice days, so I'm hoping to do more of that when it gets (& stays!) warmer. Our neighborhood is quite hilly, so it's a good workout.

I knew my pre-pg clothes wouldn't fit the same after I had DS, but I didn't really realize that the tops wouldn't fit. I'm bf'ing, so my chest is still bigger than pre-pg, and a lot of my favorite pre-pg shirts are too tight now or too short because they're riding up higher. I'm wondering I'll be able to wear them again once I wean?

  • For this week, let's discuss how are bodies have changed and how we are handling it.  If you are expecting, how have the changes effected you?

Well, I have been a little unusual - or based on the majority of the stuff I saw from other ladies on here... I am right about 32 weeks and down a total of 14-15lbs from pre-preg... I was a bigger girl (size 14/16+ with DDs) to start with and am considering seeing an endocrinologist soon after the baby comes cause some switch flipped with the pregnancy and the weight just kind of dropped off a lb here and a lb there without any real morning sickness, although the boobies went up 4 cup sizes.. maybe this will be the answer to the dieting woes I have faced for the last 15 years. (Anyone else have this happen?)

Belly finally popped and I no longer look like I ate an entire pizza followed off by a 6 pack of beer. Besides killer heartburn and aching hips, I have been pretty good physically. This last month or so though hormonally has been a challenge... the tears come when I least expect them and we have some rough family stuff going on that has kept me at my wit's end the majority of the last 30-45 days. Focusing on relaxing and keep my mind off all the stresses and getting through to d-day!

  • I am (for the first time ever...) happy with my body!  I gained about 32 lbs during my pregnancy and I've lost all of it, plus a little.  I can't wait for my skin to shrink back to normal, but I'm stoked about the weight loss.  I've always been a fluffy girl and weight loss has always been an issue.  Breastfeeding is the best diet ever! Stick out tongue  I think the one thing that might eventually bug me is my stretch marks, but for now I wear them with pride.
