Decorating tips please LIP

I don't pretend to be good at decorating so I was hoping you ladies might have some suggestions on how to spruce up the room with this bedding.

Right now the walls are white. I'm worried that painting them blue would be too much but leaving them white wouldn't be enough. Oh and the furniture is espresso. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Get all the stuff that matches the bedding. This makes it really easy.

You could try a really light blue for the walls or maybe even tan.

Make some cute art with the baby's name, lots of people get those wooden letters and paint them then hang them up. I did. Or find some cute pictures that match to hang up. Just go to your local craft store and spend some time looking around. Maybe you want to put up a shelf? Or a hammock for stuffed animals?

I put a twin bed in my nursery also, so DH and I can get some sleep when we need to without bothering each other. We got a bed in a bag deal from walmart that sort of matches the babies bedding.

    Hope this helps, GL!

  • I would paint the walls the light blue, and then paint clusters of dots/cricles on the walls in the other colors in the bedding.
  • I would personally not paint the walls blue, seems too matchy-matchy to me.  Personal preference, though.  I would go for a light tan.  Or if you wanted something bold I would paint one wall navy.  Good luck!
  • Agree with PP, I think that tan walls, and some nice curtains, maybe in navy, would spruce it up a bit.
  • Your bedding and furniture are very similar to mine.  We are painting the walls a light tan and will have some blue pictures etc.  Painting the walls blue would be to much blue IMO.  Sometimes less is more.

  • I think leaving the walls white would be fine.  But, if you aren't sold on the white, I would go with a neutral tan as others have suggested.  i think blue walls would be over-kill IMO... a bit too matchy for my style anyway.

  • What about vertical stripes along the bottom half of the wall with a chair rail?
  • Our bedding is similar & furniture is same color..this is what we did.
