  • Ooooh, ooooh me, me!

DS goes down between 8 and 9 and gets up about 6. He still wakes at least once a night and winds up in our bed.

  • Raising hand!!!  Me!   DS always wakes up at 4am and wants a diaper change or bottle.  We can't break him of this habit no matter what.  The minute he gets the bottle, he drinks it, hands it back to me and falls fast asleep.  I wish I could go back to sleep as easily!

  • i should add that when he does wake it takes about an hour for me to get him back in his crib
  • DD just started sttn about a month ago. She'll wake up once (most nights, but not all) and we just let her cry for a few minutes and she falls right back asleep.

I feel you though. Up until a month ago she was up a lot (starting at about 3 hours after she went to sleep, and she was up every 1-2 hours after). I was bf'ing her at night to deal with it/put her back to sleep. I think we were just in a habit that I needed to break.

  • Ah, jeez. Us. Me. DS. He does a good stretch in the beginning too, and then it just totally goes to crap. We're seriously thinking about moving him into our second bedroom, getting crib (we currently co-sleep), pretty much everything short of CIO. Though my guess is that it'll be harder to get him back in the crib bc it's so freaking hard to lay him down and have him keep on sleeping, and he's been freaking out if DH tries anything, which is part of the reason we co-sleep in the first place. I'm really really really hoping that this current bout of craptastic sleep is walking- and molar-related, but I'm worried that I'll never sleep more than a few hours until he's like 7. Sigh.

how did you break the habit? I have to nurse him back to sleep also and if it takes over an hour to get him back in his crib then I give up and bring him to bed with us, which is almost every night.

  • DS wakes up around 3-4-5am then goes back to sleep until 8. Sometimes he wakes at midnight too.

  • count me in!  We just started putting DD in her crib this week.  The only night she STTN was Wed.  The other nights she wakes up atleast 2-3x, but we just continue to stick with it.  When we co-sleep, she STTN.
  • I feel all your pain - DS just started sleeping through the night - in the last few weeks. I started just letting him fuss/cry, when before I would get up. I also made sure he was warm and reach a few of his paci's by himself. Good Luck - they eventually do sleep!
  • Confused  That would be us.  DD hasn't slept more than 5 times through the night.  On good nights, she goes to sleep around 8:30...sleeps until 2pm, then back to sleep until 5am.  That's it if my DH goes in for her.  If I do, she will go back to sleep with me in our bed until 8ish.

  • DS wakes up around 2/3am and then he ends up in bed with us then wakes up around 9am.
  • Some nights she can make it 9PM to 5AM for a bottle, but usually she is up sometime around midnight and again around 4AM.  Often she just cries and then goes back to sleep, but it wakes me up.
  • DS slept through the night for the last 4 nights, that's the longest stretch he's gone through yet!  Previously  he'd wake up at least once a night, some times we'd just rock him back to sleep, other times he'd be crying so much I'd have to BF him to go back to sleep.  We finally stopped BF at night about a month ago and when he'd wake up over night we'd let him stay a little bit longer in his crib before going to get him.  Now he seems to be able to self soothe himself if he wakes over night.  Hopefully he can keep up the trend!
