when did you transition to toddler bed?

i'm in no hurry and my DS doesn't seem to be either- he is 28 months and perfectly fine in a crib- doesn't try to climb out or anything- should i assume to keep in there as long as happy?

We did at 20 mos because DD climbed out. I thought she'd be in the crib much longer! I'd definitely keep him there until he seems unhappy!

We did at about 22 months. DS was climbing out of his crib, otherwise I would have loved to keep him in the crib. If your DS is fine in the crib, I would stick with it!

don't fix what ain't broken

aidan climed out at about 18 months. i got a crib tent. she loves loves her crib. its her domain. she wont be in a bed for a while.

DD - 21 months

DS - 40 months (no kidding!)

We waited a long time with him because he had leaky diapers, then he was scared of the dark, then he was potty training and adjusting to preschool, and then it was Christmas. Finally, things settled down and we got him a big boy bed (twin --never used toddler beds with my kids).

For both of my kids the change was no biggie. DD was ready; DS wasn't until much later.

ds moved to a toddler bed at 11months and it was a rough first few days but all is well, we moved him to a twin bed at almost 2 and he does great. now he is even putting himself down for a nap (not all the time but sometimes)
