In baby boy #2's nursery?? I want to buy espresso color furniture for our LO but have some items that ds doesn't need anymore that I want to incorporate in baby #2's nursery. Just wondering if it would look okay with the mixed color pieces? thanks
I'm doing it because our natural colored glider and crib won't be permanent in the nursery. So, the new pieces are expresso and will be fine with the natural ones for a few years.

I have debated this as we have espresso pieces, but I have decided not to mix. I think it really depends on the pieces and the shades of color. Ultimately though, I think it is fine as long as you like it.?
Absolutely! Look at the colors in the natural grain of the wood... sometimes the dark colors come through in the wood grain and enhance each other.
And anyway... why would you go out and buy entirely new furniture (unless you've got too much $$) just so it can match perfectly? Come on, it's not like your nursery is a Pottery Barn catalog where it needs to look 'perfect' -- I can guarantee you the baby won't know the difference, and your husband and yourself are the only ones who see it on a daily basis anyway.
i think if you made it so that there were other elements in the room that incorporated those colors together, it would be fine- baskets, frames, stained name letters, etc. GL!
This. My grandma is incredibly in to decorating (you should see her house!) and she says it always looks best when nothing matches. She thinks if you use several different shades it looks best and that getting everything exactly the same color is boring. Not something I would have thought up myself, but it definitely looks good.
