**fxz109**

I wanted to thank you for your kind comments in my post below.  All of my friends bf so they all just kept encouraging me to try and kind of made me feel bad.  I decided yesterday to switch to formula.    I only have 7 weeks at home with her and I don't want it to be alot of crying for both of us and frustration.  Plus I was so concerned about her lack of wet and dirty diapers.  I am so glad I switched!!  She is so much happier and sleeps better and now has dirty diapers after each feeding.

Thanks again!!!

  • *Butting in*  I'm not sure if you've seen this, but I thought it was an interesting article and it might give you a little bit of ammunition if anyone tries to make you feel guilty for your decision.

  • Sorry I went to look at another post and accidently opened this one....but I just want to make a suggestion because I ended up formula feeding DD2 and understand what your going through.  Make a list of the reasons why you switched, that way when you start to feel guilty (hormones do take over) you will be able to reassure yourself that you did the right thing for you and your baby.

Hang in there!  The first few weeks are tough but you'll get through it and forget all about it.

  • I'm glad both you and Olivia are feeling better.  Happy mommy = happy baby and that's what is most important.

I was thinking about it this way the other day - at 5, 15, or 25 can you tell who was BF'ed and who got formula?  (unless the 5 year old is one of those extended nurser kids, and then you may be able to tell at 15 and 25 in that case, too! ;-)

  • Sorry to butt in....but I'm glad things are going better now!
  • Thanks so much ladies!!!  I knew bf'ing would be a struggle but I'm also kind of high strung, so when her diapers weren't dirty like they should be it really made me stress out (probably more so than other women) that she wasn't getting enough and that was pretty much the final straw.  But I am so grateful to have you ladies to help me through and make me feel better.
