how long after you weened did it take.....

    I don't know the answer. I just stopped breastfeeding 2 days ago, so interested in the answer. I just wanted to tell you that your baby is adorable!!!

    Well, I got my period back when DD was 7 months old and have had it monthly since.  She's still nursing so I don't know about the first part to your question.

    I am still BFing and got my period at 5 months post partum.  It doesn't always stay away unfortunately.

    I have been weaning and my last day was yesterday. I think it all depends. Some peopel get AF right away! Some it takes months after BFing for it to return.

    Everyone is different.  If you're weaning now, it could start before you're totally finished or it might not start for 2-4 months after you stop.  I got mine at 13/14 months when DD went down to 2-3 nursing sessions a day.

    Same with breastmilk, everyone is different.  DD weaned so slowly that I wasn't making much milk at the end 21/22 months and the milk was gone soon after she stopped.  But if you're weaning an infant it could take 2-3 weeks after you're done for your body to stop producing milk.

    I got my period back at 3mo, even though I was nursing around the clock.

    DD was weaned at 16.5mo, she'd been down to 1 nursing a day for at least a month. The milk went away pretty much instantly. I never got engorged or leaked.

    My son is 8 months and we're slowing weaning.  I mean VERY SLOWLY so I'm hoping that helps the milk go away and I have no issues after we completely stop.  Still no period.  I read that it usually comes back after you stop night feedings and we stopped that about a month ago.  My doctor said if it's not back 3 months after weaning, she wants to check me out.
