According to LynninLove, the *real* reason daycare teachers have children try new things, do crafts, etc. is so that they can test them - to move them up to the next room and get more $$.
Just thought you should all know the true reason for all the coloring projects that come home with DC.

Makes sense to me. I remember the infant wait list in Las Vegas was ASTOUNDING but there wasn't as much competition for older spots.
I also think some of it is pressure parents put on centers. I remember being pregnant and everyone on the tri boards were talking about how important it is for you to have a constantly stimulating, early education promoting, day care... even for infants. Seriously... coloring at 6 months

like things like that and I don't think my son is dumb by any means!!! I said it than and say it now (as Harmon tries to learn to open the tooth brush bottle w/his mouth and roll a dump truck) kids own discovery methods go much further than our manufactured ones.
I'm glad you can be so supportive of a mom trying to be reassuring to another mom. Y'know since there aren't plenty of real dimwits floating around these boards that deserve snarkiness.
