how often do you send pics out?

sorry, i'm post happy today.

i keep a shutterfly share site, but i dont send out the automatic email every time there is an update. i also rarely send pictures through email. i think the last time i sent out pictures of my son was two 1/2 months ago.

so, how often do you send out pics? i've gotten the most anoying emails with people's kids every week or so....tons of pictures i couldn't possibly go through, not to mention kids i barely know at all. on the other side, i follow some of my friends blogs and love to see what they are up to frequently.

so what's the rule here? i don't want to be annoying "Look at my kid!" to people who don't really care, but i also of course want to show off my guy...wondering what the middle ground is here as far as who to send to, and how often.

    I update my shutterfy share site every 6-8 weeks, people on my list get an email and can look if they want.

    I did an Ellie update every month with stories and a few pics for the first 18 months of her life.  Since Abbie came along, I did 1 update.  Friends and family kept emailing me asking where the monthly update was so I now it wasn''t annoying and they really looked forward to it each month.

    I update my blog and Flickr site regularly and everyone I am close to checks those sites out whenever they want.  Frankly, I had friends who would send out weekly links to their pics and I found it annoying.  As long as everyone knows your site address, unless something major happened-like walking for the first time or first tooth, I'd just leave it at that..but thats IMO :)

    I update my blog on average once a week.  I pick the cutest pictures I take thru the week.  No one wants to see the 15 pictures I have taken of DS sleeping Big Smile
