So I don't find suicide jokes funny.

So sue me.

I'm getting greif on 6-12 about suggesting a mental health professional,and/or expressing distaste for joking about it for a girl who titled her post: I have suicidal thoughts.

I'm right.  I know I am.

And, yeah. I'm just PWing right now.  My feelings aren't hurt about it.

    Is she really having suicidal thoughts, or just joking?

    I feel the same way about posts where people talk about getting rid of their animals.

    My guess is that she's joking, but in my experience, it's best to take any threat of suicide (no matter how jovial-seeming) seriously.  So when people are "just kidding," I don't find the humor.

    Also, it looks like they're going to let it go - so no more greif Smile... you never know with the 6-12 crowd, though.  Haha.

    Pixy- I couldn't agree more about the pets thing, too.  There are some things that just.aren't.funny. no matter how you wrap it up.

    I hate when people talk about suicide jokingly...or mimic shooting themselves in the head.  My Uncle shot himself in the head and it makes me think of that every single time.  You never have any idea who has been affected by suicide in their lives, so I always refrain from using phrases like that.  I never got it until it happened to me though.

    I don't find the pg posts saying "I'm bipolar!" either.

    If they are joking about it, they don't understand it.  And they need to get informed.
