My MIL gave me a pack n play that her sister used for her grand kids which we are going to use, however it's not quite like the one that I wanted.  It's an order version that just has the whole top open, when I wanted the Newborn napper that has the changing spot and then the place where the baby can sleep.  We live in a 3 story townhouse and we were going to use the pack n play that MIL gave us on the bottom floor where we can keep an eye on her if she is sleeping, but I put the other pack n play on our registry.  She calls tonight and sorta jumped down our throats for registering for another one. Why can't see listen for once when I tell her that we are going to use both instead of talking everything so personal, and why is she stalking our registry??

    I kind of agree with her.  If you have one, why did you register for one.  Just buy it yourself.

    I can kind of understand why she's upset. She may feel that you don't think hers is good enough for the baby. Did you break it down for her that you still loved her gift, but also wanted one for upstairs so you wouldn't have to be lugging it all over the house? Sometimes people just need it explained to them in the most simple terms.

    Yes we told her that we wanted another one because there is no way we were lugging a pack n play up an down the steps.  It also smells like stale cigarette smoke a little bit and that's after sitting it outside to "air out".  She didn't seem to care to much.

    I can understand why you would register for another one.  Especially since you're going to use the new one as a sleeping spot for the baby.  The older models don't have that feature.  I'd do the same thing. 

    I'd just tell my DH to talk his mother about freaking out and what your plans are for both.  You shouldn't have to justify your registry to your MIL.
