3rd Trimester

I HATE maternity clothes!

I have had one pair of maternity blue jeans my whole pregnancy, they are starting to get a bit snug. Not to mention today it is only 63 degrees, and I was hot enough to think it was at least 70. I  have at least 4 weeks left of this, and I honestly don't see me getting through it w/o more clothes. My maternity shirts are getting too short, and dh thinks I look completely rediculous wearing his jersey shorts with a tee.

In the end maternity clothes are expensive as all get out, and I'm screwed. Why do they make maternity clothes that even pregnant bellies grow out of? LOL.

Re: I HATE maternity clothes!

  • I don't understand the short shirt thing either.  *shakes head*  Seems really unfair.

  • If it helps, I just got an e-mail that Gap has cut prices and has a lot of items on sale in the Maternity section online now....they're do-able prices for some things...
  • I hear ya on this one!!  Wearing pants sucks at this point.  No matter where the waist line hits, it is horribly uncomfortable.  And all my shirts except for one are too short.  I look ghetto with my big ol' belly hanging out!

My mom picked up these two dresses for me the other day...I call them mumus, because that's what they look like.  But they are so nice to wear because they don't have a waistline to squish me.  And they are long, so they cover me.  But I wouldn't go out in public with them on!  LOL.

  • Dresses are the best!

  • I would check my local salvation army or thrift store. If it's only for four more weeks, that would be your cheapest bet. And you are likely to find really cute stuff there.
  • I am noticing the same thing. I hate to buy more maternity clothes when I only have a few weeks left...but I still have to look professional at work. I went to JC Penny's on Sunday and got a couple of maternity t-shirts that were 2 for $16...so hopefully those will help me get through the rest of my pregnancy!
  • I went to Old Navy on Sunday and bought what I call my 'second wave" of maternity clothes.  My shirts were getting short and I needed some "looser" pants.  I found that they had some of their pants on sale and ended up getting three pair for $9.99 each and two shirts for $20.  I thought that was a pretty good deal!
  • i hear ya! i grew out of two pairs of pants because they were the half belly pants. now i know for next time that i need full panel pants only. and the shirts are getting snugger, ive gone up in size already and im 29 weeks. i didnt realize when i bought the clothes that they were supposed to look like tents on me!
