Boy/Girl Twin Room Ideas

Hi Ladies-

?I am expecting boy/girl twins in August and we need to start to register because showers are coming up. I am soooo torn on room ideas, decor, colors or theme. Please share some ideas. Anything helps....thanks in advance! Pics and websites would be appreciated too.

Re: Boy/Girl Twin Room Ideas

  • Our bedding is in the baby bio link in my siggy.  We just painted the walls tan so it matches both sets.

I guess we don't really have a theme.  DH loves outdoors stuff so he put stuffed animal heads above DS's crib (from Cabela's).  I painted a girly pic for above DD's crib.  They don't match but they are on opposite sides of the room so it doesn't seem to stand out or anything.

Here is another post with a bunch of info.  Our room pics are in my response there.

  • the walls in our B/G twin room are two shades of sage w/ white trim

Madelines bedding is lavendar w/ dragonflies https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Dragonfly-Dreams-12-piece-Purple-Crib-Bedding-Set/2481285/product.html

Zacharys bedding is light blue w/ dragonflies https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Dragonfly-Dreams-12-piece-Blue-Crib-Bedding-Set/2481284/product.html

  • Our walls are tan color and the bedding is pink and brown and blue and brown.
  • Ours is classic winnie the pooh (from target), walls are painted a light, warm yellow. The bedding is very neutral, which i liked for when they were sharing a crib, etc. good luck!
  • We're doing a cowboy/cowgirl theme with red and blue as the main color and using denim and white as accents.  I don't have any pictures, I just got frustrated looking for boy/girl nursery ideas and came up with the our theme. We were going to go Hawaiian/surf theme, but I never could find bedding that we both liked.

  • I totally set out to do something modern & hip (like the rest of our house), but we landed on a little bit cute instead.  The walls are a mocha tan, the cribs & dresser are black and the overall theme is bees & lady-bugs . . . we found similar bedding with sage green & black&white gingham for the bedding -- DS is bee, DD is lady-bug.  There are pics in my blog (link in siggy) -- look in the archive back in March 2008.
  • We're doing a Dr. Seuss room (which I had already decided because it's neutral and I'm not a fan of the pink/blue stuff). ?

We got sheets from PB and I'm going to make dust ruffles and a curtain for the closet 'door' from red seersucker. ?We haven't picked a wall color yet - just the back wall that will be a mural from The Lorax. ??

  • We did a modern theme.  I got coordinating bedding with dots on them from penneys- one is pink the other blue.  For what it is worth they aren't typical baby pink and blue.  Then we painted 3 walls a lighter lime green and the accent wall has about 24 large squares to match the bedding- pink, blue, lime green, tan and chocolate brown.  We didn't want anything too cute and thought that this would be something that they could use for more than a couple of years.
  • There are pictures in my blog.  We went with coordinating pink and blue bedding sets, and I love how the room turned out!
