I'm having a scheduled C-Section due to previous fractured pelvis. Myself and my doctor just don't want to mess with it as I have not had problems since it healed.
So my question is...Would you take a birthing class? I most likely will not go into labor and if I do, they will just be doing a C-Section.
I'm sure there are reasons to still do it..?..maybe? What are your thoughts?
Re: On the Birthing Class Note...
If this is your first I would opt to take it - you never know. It's interesting to take a class none the less
My hospital IS Anti-VBAC after having a previous c/s BUT my OB said if you come in at a 10 and ready to push they will not stop labor on you.
FWIW I also had a c/s (unplanned).
I would call the people holding the classes and see if there is anything on having a csection. They might have a section about incase it happens, healing, post-c., ect. I would at least check it out.?
?
They will also do a tour of L&D and probably have hospital specific policies you should know about. It would be worth it for that.
The hospital where I'm delivering is so small they don't have classes. So I'll take the classes at a nearby hospital and then go to my hospital and let them give me the lowdown. (They only deliver 2-3 babies a month, so they sort of let you do whatever you want, but I'd rather have a quick tour to be on the safe side.)
