So, I haven't thought really at all about strollers at this point, but someone on another board posted what seems to be quite a good deal on a travel system- in the Sears ad, this in a different color with an extra base for $129.
The issue is, I'm worried about getting crap I don't need. One of my main pregnancy goals is to not become one of those parents who toss money at useless baby stuff. Where do you use strollers, especially if you primarily baby-wear? Not the grocery store, I don't spend time in malls, doesn't seem like it'd be great in outdoor places, etc. I assume that I'd need a stroller of some sort, but I would like to not have multiples, or a kind that won't be useful.
Help. I'm really clueless!
Re: Help- Strollers (I swear its EF related :))
I was (and still am) very anti-travel system. We have the Chicco Keyfit carseat. But with DS being born during the winter and not liking being worn much, we ended up getting the matching stroller when he was a few weeks old. We had a rebate credit card and there was a mail in rebate at the time too so we only spent about $60-$70 on the stroller. We only used it 1-2 times with the car seat snapped in. Most of the time we've used it as just a stroller. I've only gone to the mall 1-2 times, it's mainly been used for going for walks either at the park or local cities. We also bought it with the agreement that in the spring when DS could sit up more, we would spring for a GOOD umbrella stroller which we did about two weeks ago.
I would say if you aren't sure that you want a travel system to wait. Pick out a car seat based on safety ratings, not the fact that it comes with a stroller for a good price. You can always get a stroller later on when/if you feel you need it.
