I didn't even know this was possible. I came home from work last night in the worst pain, and thought that I had moved around too much during the day and that a good nights sleep would cure it.
Then my husband and I go grocery shopping at Target this morning and I am crying in the produce section it is so bad. Like someone is repeatedly stabbing me in the hip with a large knife. Rest and tylenol and even a warm bath have not helped. I am thisclose to calling in sick to work tomorrow, but I would be so embarassed...I work in an OB office and RLP is usually not a big deal and I'm worried people would label me the lazy pregnant girl.
Anyone else having severe RLP? Or could it be something else? Have any ideas about what might help??
Re: Severe round lig pain? Anyone?
With #1, I was initially told I had RLP, eventually diagnosed with severe RLP and finally SPD. I was put on modified bedrest and went to physical therapy twice a week for the last half of my pregnancy. Talk to your dr soon. It may NOT just be typical pregnancy pain- you never know.
I'm rolling around on an exercise ball as we speak since the pain is starting to come back. Suuuucks.

I had something similar around 14 weeks that had me freaked enough to call the OB. It only lasted about 1/2 an hour but it had me doubled over in pain. The OB had me come in right away and examined me but couldn't find a cause. I had a follow-up u/s a few days later and everything looked good.
The OB said he didn't think it was RLP because it's not supposed to be so sharp and painful, so he was more inclined to think it was just some fluke thing, like intestine being tweaked or pulling on an ovary or whatever. I still think it was RLP...
I had another bout the next night, again for about half an hour, but nothing like that since.
Me too! I didn't mean to scare you either.

I had what I thought were severe RLP on Saturday night. They were very sharp and hurt so bad I could not move. They were on my left and lasted for about 1 hour to 1.5 hours (If I hadn't experienced a m/c before, I would have thought I was m/c'ing because the pain was that bad). I pulled out my doppler and listened to the h/b just in case. Then, I took a Tylenol and tried to sleep.
The next morning, I looked it up, and found out it was not RLP. From what I read, and since I remembered I'd had pinches in that area, especially when trying to use the restroom, I figure it was probably a problem with my digestion (since pregnancy slows the digestion process). That morning, I was a little sore, but otherwise fine.
Yesterday, I had real RLP and they felt NOTHING like on Saturday and were WAY less painful.
Try to make sure you're getting enough water and if you're having trouble pooping (even if it doesn't seem like a big deal), try to eat more fiber.
HTH.
