I think my 8 month old is smarter than me!!!

So first she tricked me when we were playing peekaboo. She was getting tired and I was changing her into her pjs.  She was covering her eyes with a burp rag while I played along.  Just as I was zipping her up she went pretty limp and was still covering her face with the burp rag after I had said "Where's Cat?" about 5/6 times.  Just as I leaned closer and said "Oh no. Did she fall asleep?" She violently whips the burp rag onto the floor and squeals with delight.

Then this morning she fooled me at breakfast.  She has begun to refuse purees for finger foods. She also loves to feed the dog and I always tell her no.  So she would pick up a piece of banana and open her mouth as she was bringing it to her face. Every 3rd (or so) bite I would sneak a spoonful of purees in.  WELL, on 2nd to last bite of purees she began to open her mouth and just as I was about to sneak a spoonful in she quickly closed it and reached her hand down and let the dog lick the banana off. Once again she squealed with delight that she had tricked me.

 I had always hoped that my child would work hard and be more intelligent than I am. I had just imagined that she would be a bit older.
