Sad for my mom (vent)

I just need to vent a bit! My mom's life totally sucks, I feel so bad for her. I mean her whole life has sucked. She has no parents, they pretty much abandoned her as achild & she grew up going between family members & foster homes. Then my dad left her with 3 babies, literally, my youngest sister was 7 months, the middle 18 months & I was barley 3. Yet she is SO strong, she put herself thru school & raised us with NO ONE to help determined not to create a cycle for us of living on welfare. She is the only persn in her famiuly with a University degree, and all 3 of us have or are gettign degrees as well. It just seems like everytime she gets a little bit ahead she gets knocked down. She works 3 jobs to make ends meet, my 2 sisters are still in school & living at home. She just got a small incoem tax return & was excited to be able to do soem improvements that are desperately needed around her house (she bought her first home 5 years ago & it needs a lot of work). Then today her car (the warranty was up ONE MONTH AGO!) broke down and its going to take all of her return and then soem to repair it. The guy said that its a very rare thing to break but the whole transmission needs to be removed to repair it. She is devestated, this puts her really behind financially. I just feel so sad for her. If you are the praying type please say a pray that she has some good luck home her way. She won't take money from us, not that we have a ton exta with me being off work, she wants us to use it for the baby, etc.

Your mom sounds like a very strong person! Hopefully things will work out for her. Fingers are crossed!
I know this is going to sound kinda lame.. but ... you could always try to nominate her for a show like extreme makeover: home edition or something.. it wouldn't hurt. and if she really needs it and really deserves it they will help her.
just a thought.
I hope things get better for her.
This is not a bad idea. A lot of shows are doing Mother's Day specials, perhaps I will look into nominating her for something.
I'm sorry your Mom is dealing with this.
I would suggest that she get a second opinion on her car before she spends any money to see what another mechanic would say needs to be done, maybe she has other options?
