Just wondering who is planning a special outfit for the baby coming home? I am undecided, and unsure of how to really dress a newborn in late July in the very hot and humid southeastern NC, haha
Its my first & I am in to overkill. We will be having a cute homecoming outfit. There is a "sweetpea" set I love at janie & Jack, but its a bit too pricey. I am thinking all white, light weight cotton, bae will be in the car the whole time with the air on, so I think a light cotton outfit would be OK, it gets hot here in the summer to & humid. Or a super cute onsie with a light cotton blanket on top, remember babies need one extra layer then you.

Personally, I am undecided. I know a lot of photos will be taken and a lot of people will be there to welcome you two home however... it's just clothing. Probably somthing cute but not overdone.
I'm bringing my July baby home in a onesie. I don't feel the need for a ceremonial outfit but I know some people do. Old Navy has cute outfits on sale for $5 - you could look there.

A Raiders outfit my SIL bought. She bought one in pink/ white and one in silver/ black or either a boy or girl. Its an outfit my husband feels he needs he or she to come home in.
I love overkill! I'm still looking for the right outfit. Since we're not finding out the sex of our wee babe I obviously need to find something "special" and gender neutral.

I've been wondering the same thing. I was shopping on Sunday looking for one and then wondered is something special really necessary. I didn't buy anything and now I think I'm glad I didn't buy one.
I think it is a very nice touch to have something special planned for the baby to wear home. My mom had special outfits for both me and my sister to be brought home in and then she saved the outfits and later dressed a doll in them for us to have in our bedrooms growing up and for her to save forever (this might not work as well if you are having a boy - but it is a cute idea if you are having a girl).
I'm also due late July and live in Florida - so it will be extremely hot here. I haven't picked out the outfit yet, but will probably be something cotton and lightweight.
My mom still has the outfit I came home in, so if I have a girl I hope to use that, weather permitting. I haven't really thought about it much more than that though!
It's a tradition in my family for babies to come home in a nice outfit. My dad bought my sisters and I each pink frilly dresses to come home in. My mom plans on going out and buying nice outfits for our babies to come home in.
Re: homecoming outfit
I am in over kill... but my mother bought ours. It is hot & humid.. I am further south! I am due last week of July as well.
Any, we have bloomers and dress (linen material) with matching sun hat. I will have to post photos.
