beta is back

I'm such a dummy. they had called my cell and left a message at 1:45pm, but I must have been in the bathroom at that moment and I didn't think to check the phone.

I didn't look at my phone until 2:30pm and by that time I was on the road. I decided to take a 1/2 day since I wasn't getting any work done.

anywaaaayyyy....

it's another chemical pregnancy. Crying My beta was 20. My nurse told me to stop taking my meds and to come back in on Friday for a second beta.

I may secretly keep taking my meds and pray fervently for a miracle...since it would truly take a miracle for anything to come of this.

so we press on...

thanks, girls, for all the encouragement and well wishes. i know so many of you are rooting for me and praying for me and I thank God every day for you all.

hugs~

  • Take the meds, you never know it could be a late implanter.  There are low beta success stories on SaIF and you could be one too.

GL and (((HUGS)))  I hope you get your miracle.

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

  • Rose, I am so sorry. I would definitely keep taking the meds though.  With my cps my RE always had me continue until beta confirmed it was a cp and not just a low starting beta.

  • I'm sorry. How many days passed are you? I would have thought 20 was good. I have no idea though. I don't think it would hurt to not stop if you are the meds. When they told me at 10DPO last time I stopped and I still ended up being pregnant. I wonder why they would tell you to stop if you have to come back.
  • I am so sorry.  Hopefully this week will bring miracles for us both.  (((((HUGS))))
  • NOOOOOOOOO! I am so sorry Rose. :( I was really hoping this was it for you. I would totally still take the meds and pray for a miracle - we've seen them a few times on the boards.

  • Like some of the other posters have said, I'm really surprised they told you to stop taking meds.  When I had a CP, my nurse had me wait until the 2nd beta (which had gone down) before I stopped my progesterone.  I'd keep taking it until thursday..if I were you.  You never know....

    Good luck!

  • I'm so sorry, I was SO hoping as the page loaded that it was good news. How many dpER are you - are they certain it's chemical? I've certainly heard of many initial betas as low as that which ended up ok. Thinking of you and hoping for some unexpected good news. (((HUGS)))

  • Rose, I think you should definitely keep taking your meds until the 2nd beta. Lots of girls have had successful pregnancies with numbers starting around 20. It blows my mind that they would just call it a c/p with only 1 blood draw! I'm praying for you! ((Hugs))

  • Oh Rose, I'm sorry to hear the news.  I'm thinking about you...hang in there.
  • Oh Rose, I am so very sorry. I was praying so hard that this would be your miracle.
