The only name we agreed on is Elizabeth Anne for a girl. I just realized this morning that would make her initials ED. I told DH this morning that I didn't think we should name our daughter that and give her those initials.
He doesn't seem to think it is a problem because her full initials would be EAD and she will be a girl. But really, how often do you use all 3 initials? (this is all assuming we even have a girl, I have a feeling we are having a boy so this may not even be an issue)
Who do you agree with?

cute name, if it is the one you really like and the only one you agreed on, go with it and forget about initials......you will drive yourself crazy
and people will probably call her Liz anyway, not Ed.
Yeah... wouldn't have put the two together...
is the issue because someone is thinking Erectile Dysfunction? that is the only thing I can possibly come up with here....
just go for it. Its not like giving someone the initials P.E.E. or G.A.S.
I don't think it will matter at all, my married initials are KY and when I am having an immature moment I chuckle to myself initialing paperwork thinking about my favorite brand of lubricant.
It really doesn't matter.
Ditto
I feel the same for B.M. initials (bowel movement)...

I knew what you were getting at in your original post (erectile dysfunction), but I do NOT think it's a big deal.
Besides, when do you ever use only your first and last initial?? I've always, always seen people use all three initials anytime they're initialing something, or doing anything that requires using initials. Plus, as PP pointed out, that wouldn't even be her monogram.

Definitely not an issue.
And FWIW, I associate "ED" with Emotionally Disturbed - not Erectile Dysfunction . I am a counselor though
