Wipe Warmers...?

Ok, so I posted this as a reply in one of my posts, but I think I waited too long....

Can anyone recommend a good wipe warmer? I remember the old Baby Bargains book saying some would leave burn marks in the wood.....

Those of you that have the newest BB book, where is the Wipe Warmer section? I remember seeing it in the last book but trying to skip through this new one, I couldn't find it.

I'm not getting a warmer at all. Most of my Mom friends have said that it's horrible when you don't have it with you (aka, ANYWHERE else but home... restaurant, mall, outings, etc). If your baby gets used to warm wipes, they'll scream and cry when you have to improvise and use regular ones. I wouldn't buy one.

I answered you below. They took that section out because they feel that wipe warmers are too much of a fire hazard. There's a paragraph or so about it in there. Doesn't the index say what page it's on if you look up wipe warmers??

I'm probably getting one. i think it's called Prince Lionheart??? We are going to be using cloth wipes though....

Just go to amazon.com or google wipes warmer and I'm sure you'll find some different kinds.

It's funny...most of us new moms are like "wipe warmers...pshhh...our moms didn't have that crap, so we don't need it either". But both my mom and MIL were like "that's so cool that they make these now...I wish we had one!

My hubby doesn't want to get a bottle warmer. He wants to use the stove pot. Any thoughts on that? We're electric, not gas...

A friend of mine has the one with the changing light from BRU. I am not sure about it having an effect on the wood though.

That's what I was thinking but sometimes our house gets soooo cold - I use baby wipes for my face sometimes and they are soooo cold those times. So I would like it for those times. I wish there was a temperature control on them so they could at least be room tempature! But also, living in SoCal, usually anywhere you go (out of my house!), is quite warm and anything with you will get at least room temperature, not freezing.

PS Bearkat - You're bump is sooo cute! Haven't seen you in forever!

I know a lot of moms who do this - microwave or pot of hot water. And when they go out in public, they just run the bottle under piping hot water in the bathroom for a minute or so to warm it to at least room temp. It's just harder to control the temp perfectly everytime (especially with stove/microwave) and when you get it too hot, you have to wait for it to cool down with a screaming baby next to you..... I want the bottles to be at least room temp for my baby boy. But I don't want him to get used to piping hot and be pissed when I can't get it that hot!

They did a little section on wipe warmers in the BB book & if I remember correctly, they've deemed them a fire hazard because of having to be plugged into an outlet... I think that the section on them is with the diaper bags & other stuff maybe chapter 9 or 10?

I think we have decided not to use one. Think of all the babies that didn't use them before the warmers came along.... Also, I've read that you can save your money and just warm the wipe in your hands right before you use it.

We registered for one....Doesn't seem like a bad idea but who knows!!!??

We STILL use one for our son, he'll be 3 in June! I know, it's a little much. But he never flipped when we were out & and had to change him. It's just nicer in the middle of the night, a warmer wipe seems less jarring. Also friends and I have come to the conclusion that little boys don't squirk you a little less with the warmer wipes )

It's the Especially for Baby brand and it doesn't get hot on the bottom, never marked the dresser.
