2nd Trimester

Not RLP

Hi all- so I know I'm not technically in the 2nd tri according to bump standards, but I have a question that I think you may be able to answer better.

The past few days I've had an ache in both or either pelvic bones. It's not a sharp/ shooting pain (as my dr. describes RLP), just a dull ache. I'm not super concerned b/c it's not low where the baby is, its just annoying and I want to know what it is! Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Not RLP

  • According to my doc and the research I've done, RLP can be either sharp and shooting (and fleeting) or a dull ache that lasts a long time. I had the dull ache one a week or two ago. I just chalked it up to a growth spurt.

  • It could be your hips.  Mine have been getting sore lately.  I have been sleeping with a king pillow between my legs and it helps.

  • I would say its first normal second its probably srteching if it is the muscle that hurts or stress on the bones, my sore pain is still here not RLP but it is a pain in my tummy I am not worried b/c it is surface pain, if it gets too intense call your doctor.
  • i hate to break it to you, but being pregnant hurts in general. embrace it.
  • It seems to go from my hips at night to my pelvic bone during the day. I feel like a sumo wrestler is one each side of me pulling my bones apart... as long as it's "normal" & not a sign of m/c I'll happily deal!  Thanks

  • Could be your hips starting to stretch & relax, or could be RLP.
  • I had really bad achiness in my left hip bone the other evening....it was extremely uncomfortable.  I chalked it up to a growth spurt.
  • I started getting hip pain at 10 weeks.  It was very sharp and painful.  Enough so that I was even having a hard time walking, getting up from a seated position, or getting in and out of bed.

I was convinced that it couldn't just be pregnancy pains, but sure enough... it is. Sad  At 23 weeks it's more of a dull ache.

There isn't much that you can do for it.  I stopped running and doing other high impact exercise, but I still walk, lift weights, and stretch.  Good luck!
