2nd Trimester

Diapers!?

I know I have plenty of time being that I'm only 13 weeks, but I'm a super planner and we are already stocking up on diapers and I would like to know from you ladies that already have children...

What size diaper did your child use the longest?

 Thanks SO much!

Re: Diapers!?

  • you might want to ask this on one of the baby/parenting boards. There are some 2nd time moms here, sure, but most of us are in your same situation, just a few weeks ahead....

that said, we're using cloth so I really can't help ya!

  • Loading the player...
  • It's different with every kid.

Do yourself a favor and put the money on a gift card instead.  That way you can buy whatever diapers are needed at the time, and you'll already have the money saved up.

  • Yes, get a gift card instead. We were "all set to go" with newborns and size 1's and ended up needing premies. I think we did one pack of those, 1 pack of newborns and then went right into the 1's because he grew so fast. You just never know. Plus the hospital will probably give you some to get started too.
  • I've heard this is a bad idea.  You have no idea what brand of diapers is going to fit your child the best, so it's better to wait and see before you stock up.

Some people that really want to go ahead and spend money on diapers put money on a Target gift card every time they go to Target, and then use that as their diaper money later.  Seems like you could just plan ahead and save the money on your own (because what if you like Costco brand diapers?), but if you're really anxious about this, that would be one way to go.

  • I would be careful about that, too... Stock up on wipes!

My niece was in size 2 the longest, but every child is different and you don't want to end up with an abundance of one size.

Um, yeah. The Bump be too crazy for pics of my kid.
  • you may want to wait....just because what if your child has an allergic reaction to a certain kind of diaper....then u've wasted a ton of money... instead put the money, that you are trying to use for diapers, aside to use for after he or she is born....
When we let go of fear, only then we gracefully move from what was, into the miracle of what can be.
  • That's a great idea!  I will keep that in mind.
  • I'm just buying every size, one box, every time I go to Costco or Target. If you don't use 'em, you can donate to a needy mom. :)
