Strange Question: Doubler in a disposable?

DS and I are going to visit a friend tomorrow, for four days. I'm going to put him in disposables while we're there - luckily I still have some around so I shouldn't have to buy anymore.

The problem is that at night he's a fairly heavy wetter. Before we switched to cloth I had him in Huggies Overnights, but we don't have any of those left. I don't want to have to buy a whole new package just for four days, but I don't want to have to wash wet clothes and sheets every day when he soaks through his regular diaper either. Would it be crazy to try to put one of my hemp inserts inside a disposable diaper?

  • I guess I dont see how that would be different then just using cloth diapers too?

  • No washing of poop in their washers.

Although I do suppose that at that point I might as well just bring a couple cloth diapers to use overnight, didn't think of that :)

  • I don't see why that would be a problem... I'd probably go one step further and put a wool cover over it too- especially for a heavy wetter.

  • Could you use liners in your cloth and just wait until you get home to wash?  Or use liners and wash at their house?

That's what I would do, and what we did the last time we visited a friend.  I figured she'd rather have my wetbag & a few dirty diaps hanging around her house for a few days than a pee soaked mattress. LOL

  • What about putting a cover over the disposable?  It would contain any leaks.  I've done it before when DD was leaking at nights (we use sposies at night) and it worked like a charm.

  • I know that sposies make doublers too.

Oh I didn't think of bringing liners either...that might make it easier if I did want to just do cloth. Because I mean if I am going to bring a few why not bring them all right? I don't know man, traveling with a baby is complicated!
