Infertility

Murphys Law right?

Today was going as any other day at work & I actually had an extra pep in my step because Monday we would be going to the bank to formally apply for the funds we'll be borrwing for IVF (we have a friend there who actually told us that we'd be approved) when my husband called and asked me if I was stitting down.

He got laid off today.

I'm not even thinking about how we'll manage our rent or pay our car insurance (which has gone up recently) the first thing that popped into my head was our date with the loans officer on Monday and can we actually still afford to take this loan out for IVF....

Is it selfish that I'm already looking into us getting a smaller car and stuff? We've wanted this so bad and now that we finally have a way this happens... DH is "supposed" to have a job lined up (he was looking into it for a few months now) as a site manager but with the economy is and how construction is being affected...I just don't know.

Re: Murphys Law right?

  • I feel your pain...  My dh got laid off in Feb. from a job with IVF coverage...  My insurance, no coverage.  I'm hoping that your dh finds a job soon.   Huge hugs!!!

  • I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope that everything will work out for the two of you. Good luck!
  • Oh that totally sucks.

I work in construction too, but I am feeling hopeful because it seems like people are getting ready to gear up their projects again. We are on 4 days a week until business picks up.......Keep your chin up and good luck to DH!

  • I am sorry, that really stinks. I hope he can find something quick. I don't think you are being selfish about downgrading your car and going out without stuff to get what your want in the end. It will be so worth it at the end. I hope you can still get the load and your DH gets a job.
  • Thanks gang and I'll definitely keep you posted, DH is adamant that we still go to our meeting on Monday.
