2nd Trimester

Is your DH oblivious?

My DH has been great about helping me do things around the house, tying shoes, etc. But, when it comes to how much time we actually have left before the baby arrives. I don't think he gets it! My mother ordered the crib mattress for us as a gift and it's being delivered today. He asked, "Why is it coming so early?" I'm sorry, shouldn't we be working towards getting everything ready and in the house more sooner than later. Yes, I it will be a while before the furniture arrives, but it has been ordered. And I'm starting to freak out bc I realize the clock is winding down.

What do you have left on your things to do? Are you going through this with your DH?

Re: Is your DH oblivious?

  • No, just the opposite. He keeps reminding me of things that we need to do or get done.

  • Mine is the opposite, I am lazy and I have not even started to clear out the room that my SS needs to move into so we can start the nursery.  Maybe I will in a month...HAHA
  • LOL-  about 2 weeks ago I overheard DH tell his cousin proudly that I just entered the 3rd trimester.  My belly says yes, but the calendar- not quite- haha!  He feels like they're going to be here next week or something.  We've done nothing so far but he got back a couple weeks ago from a 4.5 week trip for work, so he hit the ground wheels spinning but not really getting anything done.

  • Mine seems to think that we still have a ton of time before the baby gets here. He is pretty laid back and I am a super planner with high anxiety. I hate when he says "it will all get taken care of".
  • DH has been pretty good about all this, but we haven't had to deal with setting up the nursery yet.  I'm starting to freak out because we don't have a room for her.  We are in the process of trying to buy a house (which is a clusterfluck right now), so we don't have anything for her yet.
  • Mine is getting much better.  I started crying and freaking out a couple weeks ago about the nursery and all the things we needed to get done, and I actually made a list so I think now that he sees it written down on paper he realizes there's a lot to do in a very short time period.
