I lurk in Parenting every now and then, as well as 0-6 & 6-12. Some mom will post some link to something cute (mass retail) and I'll see comments below that say "I ordered one!" "OMG! I had to order the whole line! So cute!" "Time to get the credit card!" and so on.
The thing is, you see these same posters post about their money woes, that the credit card bills are so hard to pay ect.
On this board, some of us buy when links are posted, others will comment on the adorableness and mark for later, and several will state that it's not in the budget.
My point is, it seems like those of us on here aren't so excessive, even with the diaper and wool obsessions. I dunno, but the "have to have right this moment or I will die" mentality isn't here.
Way to be smart with your money, girls!
Re: Yet Another Reason Why I Lurve This Board:
I'm very smart with my maney.
(I had to).
I agree, however. Besides - etsy is so much more fun than big box retail!
very true :-)
though i will say that since jack mainly wears handmedowns, i feelt much better about buying him slightly expensive diapers - LOL!
Hmmm.... I tend to have the "have to have right this moment" mentality A.LOT. with B4s and wool lol- but ONLY if it works in my budget or if I can shift some $$ around from me to DS because, well, let's face reality- the diapers are for ME and I get pretty darn excited;)
Fortunately, eco-friendly living and budget-living usually go hand-in-hand. Both are about using what you need, as opposed to going overboard buying and using stuff that you don't need.
Of course, I too love looking at all the great links that people post, especially if it's something handmade!
