Hi Jenny - I have not had the integrin 3 biopsy...is that when they put you on meds like you are cycling for IVF and then test tissue from your uterus? That's something that my dr. mentioned, but it may be something different from what you are talking about. I'd love to hear more about it from you. Thanks for the info!
Re: ***tryingtogetpregnant***
Hey there!
The integrin 3 biopsy is a biopsy where 9-11 days post ovulation, your RE will go in and scrape your uterine wall. It has to be 9-11 DPO though. If you don't ovulate on your own (I don't), then they will put you on patches for 25 days to simulate ovulation.
It took 13 days for my results to come in. It's a positive/negative deal. If you're negative (as I was), then it shows you do not have the integrins in your uterus to implant a baby - essentially, your uterine lining is not "sticky." They said that this can cause multiple BFN's or m/c's - I've had one of each in IVF.
I am doing my ER on 4/27 - my ET will be months later (we are doing CGH testing). During my wait time, I will take one Depot Lupron injection on CD 1 following my ER AF. Then, I will take a 2nd injection 28 days later. I can start prepping for my ET after this time frame. There is a 100% success ratio in this treatment.
I was so happy to find something that was fixable. However, I was so beyond upset that it took 2 years to find it! It's a painful test (like HSG), but it is over quick - 10 seconds.
Hope this helps - let me know what questions you have!
P.S. - I was told 20% of unexplained patients have this!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Jenny! That is SO interesting! Your treatment plan sounds great...100% success rate is amazing! What exactly is an integrin - I've never heard of that before. I'm definitely going to ask my RE about this and I'm sure I'll think of more questions. I'm so glad you told me about it!!!
You have integrins in your uterus (apparently). These are what cause your lining to be sticky. I don't have those integrins at this point.
Make sure your RE does the specific integrin 3 biopsy - not just an endometrial biopsy any time in your cycle. Days 9-11 DPO are the most accurate days to measure your integrins.
Good luck! Hope you can get your biopsy and maybe an answer to all of this!
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
kgs - hope this helped! Let me know if you have any other questions!
