AW: my crazy garden

I was just mentioning my crazy garden in the green post and I thought I'd share photos. My entire yard is nothing but a crazy perennial garden in need of some serious design help. I moved a ton of plants last year (this is all pre-move) but I still have a ton of work to do this year.

Here you're looking at boxwood, rhododendron, ivy, lilac, dogwood, hosta, poppy, daylily, columbine, sage, mini irises, lavendar sage, shasta daisy, ornamental grasses, rose of sharon, hollyhock, seedum, yarro, and a handful of random items that I still can't identify.

More of the same from the front page, plus lavendar, irises, my strawberry patch, mint, morning glory, thyme, peony and some different grasses.

The back yard looking toward the front - in those brick retaining walls is where I plant my vegetable garden.

Is that not the most insane thing you've ever seen in your life? This was all inherited from the previous owners and is a ton of work!

The front of your house looks like a page out of a storybook!
  • OMG, That's the totall opposite of ours. We have about 10 plants total. I'm working on it be we're a long way from "curb appeal".
  • Wow that's amazing!

  • Wow that's the opposite of mine too.  We have to giant trees in the front of our house and some hedges but that's about it.  I wish I had some of your cool garden at my house.

  • OMG, My gardens looked like that when we bought our house and although I love looking at the flowers, it was too much for me so I had a plant sale and people came and dug out what they wanted. It was a lot of work, thanks God for mother's. I now have very simple, easy to maintain gardens and less of them.
