2nd Trimester

Hypothyroid Mommies come in!

Hey all!  How are you all feeling?  How much has your medication changed since the beginning of your PG.  I was Hypothyroid years before my PG and the level I was on before getting PG was .088, I am now on .125.  So, in essence I've gone up 2 levels.  How about everyone else?

Re: Hypothyroid Mommies come in!

  • Hello!!  My thyroid has gotten all wacky too since being pg.  My dosage has only changed by one level....I think I am on .075 now, but they have been keeping a close eye on it.  I was having some problems with it prior to becoming pg, but they got it all figured out before my BFP so hopefully no more issues!  :)  GOOD LUCK!

  • I went from .75 to .88 in first trimester, because I felt WAY too tired and they told me my levels were low
  • So far my levels haven't changed. I take 75mcg of synthroid.

I'm feeling like they might be dropping though - I am seriously exhausted. I thought 2nd tri was the honeymoon trimester! Ungh. Sleep

  • I am still taking the same amount of synthroid, .50 but I am having blood work next appointment. I have been feeling extremely tired. I also need surgery after the baby is born to remove two nodules (cysts).

  • Wow my meds are really high!  I had a total thyroidectomy about 6 years ago.  Prepregnacy I was at 175 mcg and 2 weeks ago they increased my dose on M,W,& F to 262.50 and they rest of the week it is still the 175.  I go every 6 weeks for blood work. They are thinking they will have to change my dose at least 2 more times before delievering and once the baby is here who knows what my levels will do.

  • My doc just increased mine from 100 to 125 on synthroid.  He told me it was pretty much starting to shut down.  I started the pregnancy at 50.  I am not as tired with this pregnancy as with my first and I never took the meds with the first so I am sure that is why.  I just wish I did not have to be on it the rest of my life!
  • My synthroid started at 50mcg  and I got my TSH down to 0.375 pre pregnancy and now my TSH is up to 12.42 so they bumped my dose to 125mcg. I have been very tired and verly concerned about my thyroid the whole way along. I am getting my labs rechechked this week so I am hoping it is back down esp since I am in the second tri now and the baby is making its own TSH now.
  • I went from 75mcg to 100 mcg and now i need to take 100mcg everyday and 200mcg on Sunday.  My levels still weren't consistent before i got pg but i have a new endocrinologist who is really good.
