MFI Weekly Check In
This group is for those of us dealing with male factor issues. We welcome everyone but mostly we are dealing with low count, motility, morphology or all three. Male infertility is a mysterious world filled with questions no one, including REs, urologists, acupuncturists or anyone else seem to have the answers to. Any treatment suggested is a coin toss for success and a 3 month wait for a fresh batch of swimmers. Most of us are told the only answer is IUI or IVF w/ICSI. The purpose of this group is to support each other through shared experiences and to share any info we can because the more informed we are the better. We have a check in every Monday morning but I will try to post a link later in the afternoon/evening also. Welcome and baby dust to all!

Re: MFI Weekly Check In
Hey ladies....sorry again for the late check in. I havent gotten any suggestions for QOTW so please feel free to add to post.
I started progesterone a week ago, I have 4 more days left. Dr said if no AF within 2 weeks of last pill to call & get BCP which I will take for 10-14 days, Starting Lupron in the middle, then on to stims! My best guess is I will do ER sometime between 5/5 & 5/15. Any cycle buddies out there?
As far as DH goes, we are going to get him on clomid to try to start working on the swimmers in case we need to go for a 2nd cycle. They want him to do a retrograde ejac test (they said it was unlikely to be a problem) and also to get an MRI to check his pituitary gland.
That's it for us. Hope everyone is doing ok and hope someone (or several someone's) have some Positive news for us soon!
Not much going on here. I had to have a beta done yesterday to make sure the hcg level is back at 0 after m/c. I had it done in the afternoon, so I haven't heard from my RE office yet. Still not sure what is next for us. I think we will give IVF another try, but neither DH or I are feeling very hopeful. I'd love to take a break from all of this until my sister's wedding in Oct, but DH and I are both to old to wait. Grrrr . . . .
Because we're fancy like that.
DH has an appointment in about 45 minutes to discuss the results of his bloodwork with the urologist. I know it is not good news because the office called before we went on vacation last week to say that he the doctor needed to see him. As a nurse, I know that it can only be something not good, that needs to be explained. This must mean that he is positive for some chromosomal abnormality, most likely Y chromosome microdeletion.
I will keep you posted afterwards.
Ladychicago, I'm so sorry your clomid cycle was not successful.
Good luck to everyone in their current/upcoming treatment.
FET #1 Dec 2013 BFN
FET # 2 Feb 2014 BFN
No more frosties
IVF #2. September 2014
PGD yielded 2 perfect 5d blasts
SET November 9, 2014
Nov 23, 2014. Another BFN
Not sure where to go from here.
We have our first RE appointment next week (April 10) to start testing me since I seem to have issues too.
DH hit the 72 days post surgery mark this weekend, which is the typical amount of time for sperm to regnerate. We're not testing him until May, but it still makes me a little hopeful that we *could* get a BFP through TI.
My blog: Making Me Mom
If you could add me to the list too please. We are TTC #1, DH first SA showed low motility, borderline morph but very high numbers.
Doc says the sheer numbers could overcome the morph issue, but we will see.
DH has a repeat SA yesterday and he is supposed to get the results today. Because he did not call me to tell me i'm guessing it is more bad news, and i'm kind of dreading him coming home from work...i guess i maybe would just rather not know the bad stuff?
I had an u/s which showed a pretty sizeable cyst (on the ovary that was developing the egg...awesome) and my HSG was clear...but doc seems to think this cycle would be a bust anyway thanks to lovely cyst.
So, between DH's slow swimmers and my cyst...well, we're just a mess.
If there are any ladies out there with MFI that cannot consider IUI as an option...please page me. It wouldl be nice to talk to someone in the same boat.
dx MFI March 2009, low motility and low morph
dx Stage I/II endometriosis September 2009.
Multiple failed clomid, injecitble and IUI cycles
IVF #1 Janaury 2011: 28 retrieved, 22 fert normally
5dt of two beautiful blasts (6 frozen)
BFP 2/10/2011 (holy cow!!!)
1st u/s 2/24: 2 gestational sacs, it's twins! Only 1 heartbeat, Baby A, 110 BPM
2nd u/s 2/28: 2 heartbeats! It's twins!
3rd u/s 3/7: Lost Baby B :-( Baby A looking good.
We will always love you Baby B.
Can I be added too? We're dealing with MFI (motility 20%, morph 2%) and have been told IVF w/ ICSI is our best bet. Our insurance wont cover IVF/ICSI until we complete this third medicated IUI cycle.
Thanks!
