My DD is 8 months. I was wondering when your DC started eating meats? How about Puffs, crackers, or cheerios? We just do Stage 1 and Stage 2 and homemade purees right now. TIA.
We atarted puffs at 6 months and she did fine with them. We have not done Cheerios yet. She loves the puffs, and they are super cheap. Pedi said to start meats and yogurt at the 6 month visit. We waited, and she got chicken yesterday for the first time. The texture is so different, so you have to go really slow with meats. DD only took 4 spoons full before she was done with it for the night. She rolled it on her tongue and looked confused. We will try again tomorrow. Buy the tiny jars or use only one cube of frozen at first. Good luck!
We started meats at 7 months - not alone but the ones that are stage 3 baby foods like turkey and rice dinner or chicken noodle dinner. DD also eats puffs, toast, and lots of other fresh mushed up fruit and veggies.
When we went into the dr for DS's 6mo checkup, they asked if I had given meats yet. I said I had a few times and they said that it was fine. He gets all meats now. For dinner last night, DH and I had turkey and gravy with mashed potatos and I just ground up the turkey and gravy and gave it to DS!
Re: When to start meats?
We started meats right before 8 months.
For puffs, I think it was about 7 months and Cheerios were right after the puffs.
