We are using DH's inheritance money that he received when his grandmother passed 10 years ago. We are so thankful that we won't have to take out a loan or borrow money. Without this, we would not have been able to do it.
I pay for an individual coverage plan that covers 50% of the cost of procedure, no meds. Everything else we place on a low interest credit card, with cash back rewards. We cut out certain things that we don't need (premium cable channels, dinner and movies out etc) so we save close to $1000 a month by not spending money on things we can get away without for a short time. We pay off a big chunk of the cycle each month by doing this. I figure once we get pregnant we can travel again and enjoy some date nights.
We have been able to do 3 IVFs this way and then we will need to pay down the balance before adding any more to it.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

we are entirely out of pocket. we are using savings, a capital one healthcare loan, and some money borrowed from family. we are about the end of our resources, so unfortunately finances are going to dictate a lot of what the next step will be. IF sucks.
We got a Capital One Healthcare loan. The payments are $600/month for the amount we got ($35k) and we're using our savings to make the payments now, but a member of my family has offered to help us make the payments so we can just pay him back with tax returns. It's a 7 year loan.
We have one shot at it, our insurance covers 90% up to $10k so we'll be able to squeak by with that and pay the remainder out of pocket. After that we are closing the door to IF.
We paid about half of my first IVF OOP, from savings. All of the others were covered. The one before this one was covered at 50% and we paid that out of savings. We have appealed insurance to cover this one, but, to not delay it, we also paid for this one out of savings, plus our $8000 donor fee.
we cut out a lot of extras and are trying to pay down our credit cards before our next IVF in july. hopefully someone will give us a loan - that is what we are counting on anyway.
My insurance covers 3 cycles of IVF (100%) in a lifetime, including ZIFT, GIFT and ICSI. A large portion of meds are covered but I'm sure there will be a small portion to pay oop. Overall DH and I have saved a lot over the years to prepare for children so whatever we have to pay oop is fine with us. Every little bit helps though.
My company has a $15k lifetime limit, which I've hit with two failed IVFs. Fortunately my husband has the same insurance & limit and he's only used maybe $4k for embryology. So, we've got a few more cycles left that will cover embryology, just not the ultrasounds/ER/ET for me.

We have the money in savings, but want to stay liquid in case one of us loses our jobs, so we got a really low interest (4%) capital one loan. ?
I'm jealous of everyone that has insurance covering IVF

FET #1 = BFP on 5/2011
Insurance? no
Did you save up for all of it or some of it? no--no time
Payment plan? no
Loans? Personal Signature Loan for 20K
How are you doing it? OOP-- all of it!
Insurance covers unlimited IVF and meds. We pay OOP for freezing/thawing embryos.
DH just got a new job with wonderful insurance. Even the RE's office was surprised at the coverage.
