36 week check-up- 1 cm and 40% effaced

So exciting to hear the progress! I was admitted to L&D at 31 weeks for pre-term labor (contractions every 5 minutes) and even though the contractions have continued, they weren't causing cervical change (I wasn't put on bedrest). But now I have cervical progress! I'm happy about it since I hit 36 weeks today. Of course, it doesn't mean I'll have the baby soon, but it'll be sooner than later!

Do you know if 40% effaced is quite a bit for 36 weeks? Or average?

Congrats on progress. At our 36.5 week appointment I was 50% effaced and 1cm dialated. I was told that I could walk around like this for weeks or go in the next day. I am still here, hoping she stays put for another week or so. It is so random...GL GL GL!!!!
