  Hoping you come back to this post- what size tshirt did you use?  I have a lot of NBs on the way and would love to make some fun gowns for them all....

  I just used fabric. But it didn't take much. maybe 1/2 or 3/4 yards. I would say if the back/front pattern pieces fit on the shirt you want to use then you could cut open the sleeves at the seam. Since the gown sleeves are much smaller than an adult t-shirt sleeve it should fit.
