I did use Mustela and loved it for stretch marks...mine are g-o-n-e, gone!  Its pricy but worth it.  I used Mederma but could not stand the smell and didnt notice any changes either.  Mustela didnt have a strong odor like a lot of the others did.  I didnt use it prior because I didnt have any until after, but Im sure you can use it during.  I dont recall reading anything that said you couldnt.  Good Luck.
