insensitive comments

I gotta vent about this... I got an insensitve comment today about In-vitro.

A family friend said, "You should have sex with some man and get pregnant that way." (my husband has huntingtons, so we dont want to pass it on, so we are doing in-vitro, they can actually indentify the bad gene and only use the good eggs) SHe was actually serious. She thinks its stupid to spend all the money for in-vitro

 My other one since I brought this topic up was, " Well its like me we didnt get pregnant the first time we tried either, it might take a couple times. " Oh man that is bad, you cant compare getting pregnant the normal way to this. I am just so ticked off today by these comments

    Indifferent Oh my on the first one. That is bad. It's like people have no filter when it comes to IF, they can say the most inappropriate things at times. Hugs!

    It makes me angry with these people and I Dont want to speak to them, but than I think what if it was changed around. If i didnt know much about this whole process, would I say stupid things too? I hope I wouldnt but I dont know

    The second comment I could chalk up to ignorance.

    The comment about having sex with some other man, instead of doing IVF to avoid passing on Huntington's...having a Sopranos moment here, that person would be freakin' dead to me.
