So I went in on cd2 (2/7) for b/w and u/s to start an IUI cycle. That day (was a saturday) they told me that they had to charge me the visit (was a little over $200) because I didn't have prior authorization from my primary. I told them that I didn't need it, but the stupid receptionist didn't believe me and charged me anyway, I had no choice but to pay because it was a saturday and their billing/insurance person was not in. I spoke to the necessary person that Monday and they told me that I would be reimbursed once they got paid from the insurance company. I have NOT received payment from them. I have called them several times demanding to know when I am going to get my reimbursement and I have not even gotten a phone call back. I know they have been paid by the insurance company because I called the insurance. It is hard for me to get this person live and I have to leave a message for her to call me back, which she doesn't. What do you suggest I do next? It is a VERY large office.
Re: Help with RE and billing....they OWE my money!
maybe contact your insurance company? i am in a similar situation in that i i told my RE that i didn't have a copay, but they charged me $40 every time i came in for a total of about $160.
then one day they said, "oh, you were right. you don't have a copay. we will issue you a refund."
that was 2 months ago.
