Hi -
DH and I just had our IVF consult with our RE this morning. We've done extensive testing and it turns out the biggest issue I have is high FSH and low AMH indicating diminished egg quality. I was hoping to hear from some of you about your success if you have a similar "condition". My FSH is 12.4 and my AMH is 0.63. And it doesn't help things that i'm 38.
TIA!
Re: Ladies with high FSH issues, please come in...
Hi there,
You can see from my siggie below I was diagnosed with high FSH at 12.1 and my highest FSH was 21! Yikes. But after a long road (see siggie again) I still never gave up and now I am 17 weeks pg! Talk about miracles! I was told over and over I only have a 1% chance of ever having children with my eggs. Hmmm, boy did I fool them.
My advice DO NOT GIVE UP! Ever! Find yourself a FSH friendly Dr (I went through 3 RE's) and your dreams will come true.
I'm hear if you ever need to chat.

I have high FSH. I was tested three times and I ranged from 12.9 to 13.3. The cycle I got pregnant, also our first treatment cycle, it was 13.2.
However, I am also 28 and my RE said my age would probably work in my favor. He said I would never be a superstar with stims, but reminded me that it was quality over quantity. My AFC was only 8 for our first IUI but we were still successful. I went straight to injectables but I don't think I had a super high dose (started at 100, went to 150 of Follistim). I had two follies that pulled ahead from the pack but I'm pretty sure only one actually ovulated.
My RE said he had plenty of patients of varying age get pregnant with high FSH. It all depends on your overall diagnosis as a couple. He also said it might take a little longer then an average patient, but you never know.
Wishing you tons of luck!!
I am ?few weeks shy of 35 and my FSH at the start of this IVF cycle was 12. ?We got our BFP last week.
?
Good luck!?
I had an FSH of 15.2 and had success with my 5th IUI (2nd on injectables). Ditto KD288 - find a high FSH friendly doctor! If I hadn't gotten pregnant on that last IUI, I was headed to a new doctor who was high FSH friendly as the RE I currently had was not very great in that area and had basically written me off and said the only way I would conceive would be IVF with donor eggs (she let me do the last IUI only because I had already paid for the meds). Good luck!!
Hi! I have high FSH (highest was 40 but averaged around 18) and AMA. After 2 failed IVFs and finding an egg donor, I got pg ON MY OWN at 41yo. Fortunately we didn't need the donor!
It can and will happen. Best of luck.
