Prayers (or the like) please

A good friend of mine just got awarded custody of his 14 year old sister.  He found out a month that said sister even exists.  The girl was being abused by her mother and Friend's dad took a paternity test.  His dad didn't know about the girl either and doesn't want her.  Girl's mom is in jail and so now Friend has her...and is struggling.

He's 27 and raising a formerly abused, very broken, depressed girl.  When he picked her up, everything she owned was with her....and it all fit in a small duffel bag.  She's about 5'3" and only weight 85 pounds. 

 Please say a prayer, cross your fingers, whatever (save for sacrificing small animals) that his stress levels go down and his sister can heal.  This is a rough time for him.

    Ugh-that sounds ugly.  I hope it all works out.  Sounds like she could use some counseling and a lot of love.

    Praying for him and his sister...

    FWIW, when I was 14, I was 5'0" and only weighed 80lbs and you've seen me now, LOL! She'll get there. I didn't hit 100lbs until I was 22 yrs old!!

    That poor child. I hope she heals physically and emotionally and flourishes now that she's out of that abusive environment.
