My OB told me it would. She said it's easier to take when you're having your period, or right after, i think. That's part of the reason I'm holding off!
Hopefully you can take some Advil and feel better.
Not what I need to hear. I think I am going that route too.
How long does it take for them to put it in? I plan on talking to them about it at my 6 week post partum appointment and was wondering if was something they could do right away or if I would have to come back. Is it uncomfortable to have it put in?
It is uncomfortable but I am a total baby with this stuff. I think the worst part on the insertion was I think he had to use a clamp or something to kind of keep me open (TMI). It wasn't horrible though. Definitely doable.
I just feel very crampy...I don't even want to stand up straight so I'm doubled over. Again, SUCH a baby at this stuff.
My SIL referred to it as the most painful experience of her life. ?lol. ?She's a bit dramatic, but she did pass out during the insertion. ?Her's actually ended up migrating up to where it wasn't supposed to be, so then she had to have it taken out.
Mine hurt like a beotch going in and then a little cramping after. I have never had any labor pains since dd was a scheduled c-section, but I would compare insertion to the worst menstrual cramp I ever had. I think the pain is when it goes through your cervix and it irritates your uterus causing it to cramp temporarily.
Yeah..I cried the first two hours after it was placed. Noone told me to take motrin beforehand. I swear I think the cramping is worse if you had a baby not long ago.
Re: um ouch mirena freakin hurts

Girl, I hear ya! Everyone on here told me it wouldn't hurt and it hurt like a b*tch!!!
I did take the Motrin. The insertion was awful and I had horrible cramping for days afterward.
I'm glad I'm not the only baby!
