so I think I'm leaning toward a coed shower. I've never been to one (only all ladies showers) so have no clue if things are planned a bit differently. I do not want to play any games so thats a relief for the guys I'm sure.
Did you do anything to include the guys or was it just a general shower?
Re: have a co-ed shower? come in...
we went to one and it was fun. more like a party with all our friends where they happened to open baby presents. the couple really didn't want to be the center of attention so it was pretty low key. no games or silly things - just eating, drinking, and talking about babies.
I hid in the kitchen half of the time since that was during a bad IF time, but it was still a good shower.
I plan on having a co-ed shower - my husband and I are a team!

My best friend is having small shower for us and it's co-ed. DH went through just as much to get to this point and he wanted to be there too. I'm very anti-game so it works out well! My friend reserved the party room at a local, fun Italian place and we're gathering there. It'll be very low-key and casual, which is just what we wanted. I assume it will be a general shower, nothing special for the guys.
My SIL's shower was co-ed. I think all the games were for the guys. They had one with beer in baby bottles and the first one to finish the beer was the winner. Another with poopie mustard diapers on dolls. And the girl was sitting across the yard/or room on a chair and was holding the doll. The first one to get the "baby" go back across the room, change the diaper, clean the mustard, powder the baby, roll up the diaper w all baby wipes in it, then run back to their partner wins.
It was hilarious.
We did! It was a big barbecue with friends/family. We didn't play any games or anything.
It was definitely the best shower I have ever been to. It was also DH's birthday that day. After the "shower" most of the older family/friends left and then the party really got started. Tommy was doing keg stands by the end of the night!
Ours was co-ed. We did one game where Frank and I were both blindfolded and had to sample baby food and write down on 5x7 cards what we thought it was.
They had sold squares for $1 apiece on a football-pool kind of sheet to see how many Frank and I would each get right. Combining gambling with baby stuff is good for men.
