I was suppose to have an shg today..The RE was unable to get a catheter in my cervix and it was VERY painful...She believes i have developed cervical stenosis or scarring from having multiple d&cs..(i have had both iuis and shg before with no problems). She also thinks this is the reason i haven't had AF since my last d&c in December...
She mentioned i may need surgery but wanted to talk to my primary RE...now i am waiting for my primary RE to call me back and tell me the next step..
Anyone know what is next? Has anyone gone through this and was the problem corrected? If so, how long did they make you wait before ttc again? I will obviuosly ask my RE all this when he calls but i thought i would ask here too while i am waiting
Re: cervical stenosis/or cervical scarring anyone?
I do have cervical scarring.
Some doctors have a rougher time then others with it. My scarring prevented me from having an HSG and diagnostic hysterscopy, but IUIs and egg transfers were done with no problem, with vallum. My first ET was difficult, my doctor needed to use a smaller catheter on me. I am not sure if the Vallium did anything for my cervix or just relaxed me enough that I did not mind them playing around in there, second ET was done with no issues.
My scarring is not bad enough to cause no periods though, so you could have it worse then I do.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.
