we are doing IVF in May- and today I was reviewing my lab work, my RE has all online charts, so I can look up anything anytime. And every since one of my day 3 labs- my FSH is normal (usually around 6) but my Estrogen levels are like 100- that is way to high, from what I am reading.
I have responded well to stims, but WTF! I have never done the clomid challenge- how could my RE have missed that!
What should I do?
Re: Freaking out over estrogen levels!
The challenge would only measure how well you respond to stims. So if you know you are, then it shouldn't be a problem.
Are you sure you haven't done the challenge? It would be checking a day 9 or 10 fsh after taking clomind days 5 through 9.
That's my understanding of it anyway.
Im pretty sure I have never done the Clomid Challenge- I have done 3 IUI's with Follistim and responded really well to the stims, I am just concerned that I have some over egg issue that is being overlooked.
I called RE's office and they are going to run my Day 3 labs again here in a few days on day 3- they looked over my labs and said overall they looked good- I think I was maybe looking at the wrong days. But I am still concerned. I feel like if I know this stuff the RE has to know this stuff!
You should really trust your RE, and if you can't then find another one. It's hard, and it's more of a decision than anything else. There's a ton of information and fertility science isn't exact or even all that predictable so you have to find a balance between being an advocate and trusting your doctor.
If you are responding well to stims and on the path to IVF, there isn't much else they can do for you.
my RE thinks the clomid challenge is not even worth it and she works for the man who invented it. I asked for one at my first appt with her since I have been going to an OBGYN for stims until now. This office only looks at more how you respond to stims and it sound like you are! which is great! so I wouldn't be too worried at all. My estrogen is high too and she doesn't even want to do the test, they are just going to monitor me.
