Re: arms reach or amby

  • if my baby is anything to go by... get whatever is cheaper, they won't sleep anywhere but next to you anyway!  LOL

the arm's reach doubles as a pnp, so i'd probably go w/ that.  will you have a swing already?  isn't the amby like a hammock?

  • We're probably going to be going with this for baby # 2 (whenever that may be) which is a similar concept to the Amby.  When DD was very young she slept well two ways - A) Being held B) Moving.  To the point that I could put her in her bouncer and, the minute the vibration cut off, she would wake up.  I think if she had a bed that moved somewhat in response to her own movements she would have slept much better ... which means I would have slept much better!

Now, I do realize that this is all purely theoretical and baby # 2 may be completely and totally different from DD, but I do have friends who have had great experiences with the Amby so I don't think my theory is far off!

  • If you are ok with baby being in bed with ouy and buying a bed rail, get the Amby.

If you (or your H) is 100% opposed to bedsharing (and get back to us when you actually have a newborn and let us know how that goes Stick out tongue) get the cosleeper.

  • I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED our Arm's Reach...We had the mini and I'm selling it to get the bigger one for next baby, since we used it so long. We did end up with DS in our bed A LOT, but it was a life saver to be able to gently move him over when I needed space.

haha - funny you should say that since when i mentioned having our phantom baby in the bed with us he acted like i suggested our baby sleep on the roof!  to be fair he is a moving sleeper and we only have a queen sized bed so there isn't a ton of room.

i think my fascination with the amby comes from MY wanting something like that to sleep in cuz it looks wicked comfy - but i also like the idea of having the arms reach literally within arms reach and being able to just look over and see the little one right there without having to actually get out of bed..
