The tech could not have seemed more bored or been more boring. She looked at the baby for 30 minutes without saying a word or showing me anything. I almost fell asleep!
I didn't tell her I already knew the sex just to make sure she said the same thing first. Finally, she said, "Ok. It's a boy," and I can't tell you how unexciting it was! Then she turned the monitor towards me and said, "Penis, face, arms, legs." I pointed the heart and spine out for myself. You know the guy in the clear eyes commercials with the really monotone voice? She was like that. Then she was gracious enough to make one comment: "Oh look. He's playing with the umbilical cord." Then she turned the screen back away from me. I saw him for all of 30 seconds.
I had to look at the screen and read the measurements for myself! All I really know is that he is measuring at 20 weeks and 3 days. (I know that she's not supposed to or required to tell me much but every tech has always told me the EDD based on that day's u/s!)
I am SO glad we'd already had a gender u/s elsewhere. I would have been so disappointed to see so little of the baby and have the tech seem so bored to tell me that it was a boy. I know that she does this all day every day but I've dealt with a handful of techs between both pregnancies and she was the only one like this.
Re: The most boring u/s ever
Wow, that is terrible! It stinks that she was like that.
haha.... he's from Feris Beuhlers day off...
he's funny.
that sucks that your tech was like that...
...
What a bummer! I am glad that you already had a good u/s previously. You would think these techs would realize what an exciting moment in your life this is, and at least try to be enthusiastic! I can't believe she only let you look for a few seconds. When I had my 8 wk u/s I watched the whole time.
It's kinda cute that he was playing with the umbilical cord!
Oh this really worries me!!!!
The tech that did the quick u/s two weeks ago was much the same way. I sweetly asked if she could take a peak between the legs...and she said "Nope" and didnt say another word.
We were there because they couldn't find the h/b and I had to ask "where is the heart at?" (even though I knew) and she simply pointed to the screen.
I really hope we get a different tech this week....I don't want a fuddy duddy like you got!!!
Yeah, I had u/s at 6 weeks and 10 weeks at the dr and watched the whole time- when there was so much less to see! I never expected this at a 20 wk u/s.
