Tethering rear facing convertable seat question

We installed Maggie's Roundabout this weekend in our 07 Accord. We were unclear about the tether. We secured it to the front seat track thingy as I didn't think we had any other option, there's no place to secure it on the floor of the backseat. Is this right?

That's the same way the inspector tethered our Britax Diplomat. It's kind of a pain since it makes it hard to move the front passenger seat forward or backward, but he said that's where it's supposed to go. You can un-clip it, move the passenger seat, and then re-clip it, though.

We had the same problem. Our Explorer doesn't have a latch hook on the floor under the front passenger seat either. I had to go online and buy what I think they call a D hook? I had to wrap that around the track under the seat and it then had a ring that you could clip the tether to. I will see if I can find something online.

vbmeg, you beat me to the punch! I just went out to the car and took some photos. It looks like our car seat must have come with the strap you had to buy. Here's how it looks in my Rav4.

Thats what mine looks like too, some cars do have the hook under the seat, my mom's older Saturn Vue has it.
