it's a service that will broadcast little messages -- kind of like your fb status -- to a group of "followers." So you can constantly update people with what's on your mind, what you're doing, etc. They call it "microblogging."

I'm seriously addicted to Facebook. Twitter is just like that, but updates can be sent to your phone....and apparently ipod.

It's a good way to stalk people. For example (and this will make Jodi proud,) when Donnie Wahlberg sends a twitter message at 2am that he is in the Niagra Casino, it sends a message to my phone with that message. Devil

Are you kidding me? Call me a biitch, but I really don't care what my friends are doing every minute or what they are feeling every minute of the day. I can picture it now:

Woke up-kinda crabby.

Ate some cereal, drank coffee.

Took a crap.

My mom irritated me.

Won $5 in a scratch off, my day is now happy!

LOL! Love my friends and all but damn, not that much!

Most Twitter stuff is crap, but it does have beneficial applications. In crisis situations for example. When the hostage situation in India started unfolding last Nov., some of the first notifications that something was going on were Twitter messages. As a culture, we just need to learn how to use the technology for something other than time-wasting. I also recently read an article that Twitter is actually teaching people to be BETTER writers since you only have 144 characters and you have to get your point across briefly.

I saw an entire show about how they are teaching kids in school to use it and how they love it and its beneficial. Not sure how though. I guess I wasn't paying attantion.
