I am so excited for our first appt. with our midwife. I am almost 11 weeks now and have been enjoying everything about the pregnancy (minus the nausea - what IS the deal with that?) anyway... I am hoping to hear the heartbeat of course and will be almost 12 weeks.?

How far along were you guys when you heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time??

I haven't had my appointment for this one yet (tomorrow). But, the first pregnancy, I had an ultrasound a 9 weeks & 11 weeks, heard & saw it then. Went to my actual OB (the ultrasounds were done by a friend that's a fertility nurse practitioner) at 12 weeks and they couldn't find it with the Doppler, so I got another u/s.

yep, 6 weeks 1 day. The doctor said if my appointment had been the day before, we wouldn't have seen it.

Through u/s at my RE's office, we saw and heard it at 6 weeks, 3 days and 8 weeks. Using a doppler at the ob's, we heard the hearbeat at 10 weeks, 2 days.

I went in for my first appointment at 10 weeks and saw the heartbeat briefly but didn't get to hear it. I asked the Dr. what she thought of the heartbeat (because she didn't even bring it up) and she said it "looked good" I asked her when I would get to hear it and she said she doesn't do that until after 15 weeks. I thought that was sort of strange.
